This is not an outtake or a bonus clip. It’s taken from the actual movie and it is only available to Kickstarter backers. We call it “Vinnie Portrait” and it’s one of my favorite scenes in the film. I feel that the scene is a true portrait of who Vinnie really is as a human being and is inspiring to watch. There are shots in this scene that we shot from all over over the world and looking back at it now I can’t help but remind my self of how much time and energy has gone into this project. If you notice there is no visuals of Vinnie actually talking con camera. Thats because the interview is an “audio only” interview. It was done in Vinnie’s apartment at 1am on a warm July summer night over some wine and cigars. Vinnie and I sat up all night and just talked. No camera, no lights, no crew….just Stigma and me. It was a very special interview because I learned so much about Vinnie that night that I did not know before that evening. In fact I learned more that one night about him than I have learned over the last 20 years of being friends with him. It was also the first real scene I cut together for the film and it set the stage for how I would edit the rest of the movie. It was first scene that the composer Arron Drake composed the music for as well. I feel it represents who Vinnie truly is and shows a side of him that many of you may of never seen before.

“Lunch With Vinnie” – Deleted Scene
This is one of my favorite scenes that we shot while filming this project but it just did not make the final cut. The idea of the scene was to film Vinnie spending an afternoon with Craig Setari – Sick of It All / Formally AF and fellow band member Mike Gallo. Hopefully we would get some real authentic and organic interactions and stories in pairing them up.  When discussing with Vinnie what he could do with Craig, he told me about how Craig used to come over and eat at his house because Vinnie’s mother used to make huge Sunday meals for so many of the hardcore kids in the NYHC scene during the 80s and 90s. Kids would eat at VInnie’s then go to the CBGB Matinee. I thought since Vinnie still lives in the same apartment that it would be great to have Craig over and Vinnie could make him lunch.  They could talk and we could film it.  It would be very organic and real.
